Why Your New Year’s Resolution Won’t Work, and Ours Will.
If this is your first time on this website, then I welcome you. This happens every year: you get yourself motivated, you tell yourself that you’re going to get in shape, and you head out the first week of January to your local gym. New Year’s resolution: get in shape. I’ve been there. These gyms offer great deals and offers you can’t deny. Planet Fitness, Gold’s Gym, NYSC all try and lure you into getting what you think, and they think, will be the best shape of your life. It’s commercial gym propaganda at its finest. So you head out to these killer gyms for the first week, feeling good, full of energy. The first weekend following your hardcore week you are all high on gym-life, telling all your friends what your gym routine is. You’re pumped. Monday comes. Back to the sick fitness routine. Chest and tri’s on Monday – always. Maybe a little elliptical and/or treadmill for that ultimate cardio feel. You started off the week great. And you continue on that righteous path of fitness for the rest of the week. 2 weeks down, New Year’s resolution is looking solid. Then comes the ultimate dagger in the plan around week 3 and 4. Perhaps you decide to hit happy hour one night, or there is a snowstorm of 1-2in. on the ground where you convince yourself it’s too dangerous to go tonight. One absent night at the gym turns into another. The Fall Off. February comes around and your friends ask you how that routine has been going. You lie and say it’s going great, really killing it. Get a grip, bro.
By the way, how’s the availability of all the equipment in the gym around the New Year? Prevalent? Or are you waiting around? Is that leg extension occupied? Alright you’ll come back to that so in the mean time you hit the Calf-Raiser. Bang out a few sets. Alright that guy is now off the leg extension machine, and you start walking over, and SHIT! Gel-haired Jerry jumps right on the leg extension before you even get there. The Robbery.
Planet Fitness, Gold’s Gym, NYSC will never meet your fitness needs. I have collected numerous amounts of gym tags from those bullshit gyms. That hour on the treadmill did you real good I bet. Did you even break a sweat?
I don’t do any marketing here at CrossFit 845 and people ask me all the time why I don’t. Why don’t I? Because I don’t need to. The people do it for me. I’m not a salesman but I know how to get these people results and create a phenomenal community around them where there is no bullshit nor drama. January 7th will mark 7 months of being open and I will have 100 members by then. Think about that. I already have to expand and double my space. Think about that. 7 months.
Don’t waste your time guys. CF845 will force you to commit to your New Year’s resolution, because it’s almost impossible to ever go to another gym. There is nothing out there like a CrossFit gym. When I ask people why they left PF, Gold’s, or NYSC, I would say 95% of new members have the same story: “I’m sick of my routine at my gym. I’m tired and bored of it.” I was one of them too. That’s why I joined a CrossFit and my first workout was only 10 minutes. I was hooked immediately. Wanna know where there is no routine? Ever? Here.
Don’t waste your money on those other lame gyms and get your ass in here. You won’t regret it.
